Welcome Letter

Dear Parents, Guardians and Teachers,

Welcome to WILSON ELEMENTARY!  For those of you who are new to this school, we warmly welcome you to this big family.

Congratulations! – you are an automatic voting member of the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) of WILSON ELEMENTARY, which is set up to bridge between home and school. We hope that our partnership will pool a wealth of knowledge, talents, and skills, while educating our youngsters. Your involvement really does make a difference in “your” child’s education.

Every year, our PTO helps to oversee the needs and development of the school. We help raise funds to provide a wide range of educational enrichment programs to our students. During the past years, the PTO has provided learning opportunities that would have otherwise been unavailable to our children. As the new school year begins, we would once again ask for your support so these efforts can continue.

While dues are not required for membership, the PTO depends on your annual voluntary donations to keep all sorts of wonderful things happening for the children of Wilson.  Whether you make a donation or not we still appreciate your involvement and your time contributed to support our school. Plenty of volunteer opportunities are available; check out our website, www.WESPTO.org or talk to any of our Board members and we can give you direction. All donations can be made payable to PTO of Wilson Elementary and returned in a sealed envelope to your child’s teacher. If you have more than one child at this school, please list all your children’s names, grades, and teachers on one envelope.

The class with the highest participation will not only enjoy an ice cream party, but the teacher will also receive a gift certificate for $25 to an educational store of his/her choice.

100% membership means everybody wins!

The PTO invites you to join our meetings to raise your concerns, and to contribute your ideas and talents to better our school. All meeting dates and activities will be posted regularly on our PTO school bulletin board, facebook page, website, and our school newsletter, the “Spartan Reporter”. We also invite you to “like” us on Facebook, give us your email address for quick and easy communications (we promise not to overload your inbox), and check out our website for additional information.

We would like to thank you in advance for your support and generous donation.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.  May you have a wonderful school year and we look forward to seeing you at our first PTO meeting and Ice Cream Social, Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 6:00pm.

Sincerely,

Wilson PTO Executive Board
